SNP Conference condemns Royal Mail Privatisation

The first item for debate at this years annual conference in Perth was Mike Weir MP's motion condemning the disgraceful sell off of our Royal Mail by the Westminster Government. 

Passed unanimously SNP conference has sent out a clear message to people in Scotland – We are committed to our public services and will not simply sit by and accept what Westminster has done. 

I am delighted that the SNP has pledged to act to maintain a 6 day a week universal postal service.  

With a Yes vote next year, we will use the powers of an independent Scotland to bring the Royal Mail in Scotland back where it belongs into public ownership.
